SKills & Enterprise Development Center Coming Soon
Keembe Skills & Enterprise Development Centre
Empowering Communities Through Skills, Enterprise & Opportunity
Ellion Crest Foundation is developing the Keembe Skills & Enterprise Development Centre (KSEDC), a flagship initiative under our Skills Development Programme designed to empower youth, women, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities with practical skills that create pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
Located in Keembe, Chibombo District, the Centre is being developed as a rural hub where education, innovation, and enterprise come together to address unemployment, poverty, and economic exclusion through hands-on learning and community empowerment.
Our vision is to equip individuals not only with technical knowledge but also with the confidence, experience, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to build successful futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving rural community where every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to practical skills, meaningful opportunities, and the resources needed to achieve self-reliance.
The Keembe Skills & Enterprise Development Centre aims to become a centre of excellence that prepares graduates to succeed in employment, create sustainable businesses, and contribute to the economic growth of Zambia.
What the Centre Will Offer
The Centre is being designed to provide practical, market-relevant training across a range of vocational and enterprise development disciplines, including:
Agriculture & Agribusiness
Training in sustainable crop production, poultry, livestock management, horticulture, aquaculture, climate-smart agriculture, and agribusiness development.
Technical & Vocational Skills
Hands-on training in welding, metal fabrication, plumbing, electrical installation, renewable energy technologies, solar installation, construction basics, and workplace safety.
Digital Skills & Technology
Computer literacy, digital communication, ICT fundamentals, digital entrepreneurship, and practical technology skills that improve access to employment and business opportunities.
Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development
Business planning, financial literacy, cooperative development, market access, value addition, and enterprise management to help participants establish and grow sustainable businesses.
Hospitality, Home & Life Skills
Training in tailoring, garment production, catering, bakery, hospitality services, childcare support, home management, and other practical livelihood skills that strengthen household resilience and promote income generation.
Practical Learning That Creates Opportunity
Learning at the Centre will combine classroom instruction with practical experience through enterprise-based training activities.
Participants will have opportunities to apply their knowledge through practical learning environments designed to strengthen workplace readiness, entrepreneurship, and real-world experience.
This approach helps bridge the gap between training and employment while encouraging innovation, productivity, and self-reliance.
Inclusion at the Heart of Everything We Do
Ellion Crest Foundation believes opportunity should be accessible to everyone.
The Centre is being designed to promote inclusive participation by ensuring that women, youth, and persons with disabilities can access training in a supportive, welcoming, and accessible learning environment.
Building Partnerships for Sustainable Impact
The development of the Keembe Skills & Enterprise Development Centre is made possible through collaboration.
Ellion Crest Foundation welcomes partnerships with government institutions, businesses, educational institutions, development organisations, philanthropic partners, and individuals who share our commitment to education, skills development, and community empowerment.
Together, we can create opportunities that strengthen families, transform communities, and contribute to Zambia's long-term social and economic development.
Current Status
The Keembe Skills & Enterprise Development Centre is currently in the development and partnership-building phase.
Ellion Crest Foundation is actively engaging stakeholders, developing strategic partnerships, strengthening programme design, and mobilising resources required to establish a high-quality, sustainable training centre that will serve communities for years to come.
